A: Your home kitchen is where you are most comfortable. In home cooking classes also allow you to reserve a time that works with your schedule without the hassle of having to drive across town to another location. We schedule classes Tuesday through Saturday during the afternoon or evening.
A: We will teach whatever you need to learn! We have several predesigned classes that you can choose from, or your instructor can design a class especially for you to fit your individual needs and wants. The classes are either recipe based or technique based.
A: A class typically lasts 2 to 3 hours, depending on the menu that you choose.
A: We offer one-on-one classes or group classes for up to 6 participants, including the host.
A: Our classes are designed to be very hands on because research shows that people learn better through "doing". During class time you will be listening to instruction, preparing items for cooking (chopping, dicing, etc.), cooking the food, cleaning as you go, asking questions of the instructor, and of course enjoying the delicious results of your class!
A: Pricing depends mostly on the menu that you choose. We add up the cost of food plus the time for the instructor. For example; If there are 6 people for an interactive dinner party that is using the Cooking with Herbs course it would come out to be about $58 per person. The cost also includes full color recipe cards for each student with a shopping list so that everyone can easily recreate the recipe!
Q: What is the job of the host/hostess?A: Your job as the host will be to work with the instructor to plan your class and to prepare your kitchen for the class. You will receive an event planner checklist prior to your class with all the details. You may prepare an appetizer for your guests and have drinks ready for them when they arrive. Other than that, you just sit back, relax and enjoy the experience!
